Happy Easter

I love this girl. We had a great Easter. After we got home from the Easter Service at church Mimi, Pappy, Aunt Jenny, Ryder, Logan and Reagan came over for the afternoon.
Brinkley likes her toys, but she loves mommy's toes more.

Brinkley is used to us tickling her tummy with her stuffed animals. When she opened the bunny she pulled it to her tummy like it was tickling her. Too cute.

 

Playing with Pappy. (Sorry Mimi and Aunt Jenny, I didn't get any pictures of ya'll with Brinkley). Thank you Mimi and Pappy for all of Brinkley's goodies. You gave her way too much. Brinkley is so spoiled by all of her grandparents.

 

Messy Eater

Brinkley loves to stick her fingers in her mouth when she eats, which drives daddy crazy. I however have given up trying to keep her clean. She now, on occassion will rub her hands through her hair.

 

 

Clean up isn't so bad. She is quite excited about a mini bath after dinner.

 

 

My first biter biscuit. Since Brinkley is teething we decided we could start the biter biscuits. She knew just what to do. She looked at it for a moment and then straight to the mouth.

What we've been up to...

We have been very busy so I made a slide show to catch up. WARNING: LONG SLIDE SHOW!!
Jason(Daddy) put up the swing set he made for me when we lived at our old house. We got Brinkley her own swing for it and she loves it. The weather has been beautiful so we have been enjoying it. Brinkley has also enjoyed her visits from Mimi and Pappy. Last weekend we headed to Columbus for my dad's(Papa)& brother's birthday and a small easter celebration with the fam. We had a great time and spent lots of quality time with the whole gang. Megan keeps Brinkley entertained. We also got to catch up with Mary, Carson, and Sam. and I got to see my sweet friend Christina and baby Jack who were in Starkville visiting friends and family.
7.5 months:
While we enjoyed our time in Columbus Brinkley has started teething and it isn't fun (I want my sweet happy girl back). She has turnde into a baby that can't be without her mommy and while I love that she needs me, mommy needs a break. Literally if I leave the room even for a second she starts screaming.(until her daddy got home and then he would walk out of the room and she would just keep playing (prooving her mommy wrong or crazy:0) I really do hate that she doesn't feel good but boy is she irritable. I just keep telling myself this too shall pass.
She is sitting up very good and tries so hard to scoot but she just wiggles like an inch worm without moving (too cute). Rather than crawl, she just wants to sit up. She continues to do crunches when you lay her on her back, even to change her diaper. She is rolling over all the time on the floor and in her crib. She likes to play peek-a-boo especially after her naptime with her bumper pads. She holds her sippie cup and bottle all by herself and loves to give slober kisses on our cheeks.
I can't believe how much she has changed but I am loving every minute of it.

Amy Johnson took her pictures and did a great job. I wish I would have known about her when Brinkley was born; we would have done the baby plan (she takes your baby's picture throughout their 1st year.) We are so happy about our pictures.

7 months

Yummy Bottle & Girls Weekend!

Brinkley holds her bottle by the bottom and turns it straight up and NO ONE better get between her and her bottle (just ask Krisitie:0) A couple of weekends ago Brinkley and I headed for Atlanta. Just us girls, on a plane, and far away from Daddy (yikes). We survived and Brinkley did great. Fast forward to her bottle... kristie was giving it to her and took it out of her mouth for just a second to wipe her mouth and she went crazy. She would not calm down for Kristie to finish her bottle so I took her and calmed her down and she finaaly took it. Kristie started laughing at her and Brinkley stopped drinking, turned and glared at Kristie and then she finally finished her bottle. My child has a little attitude:) Clearly it comes from her daddy...I would never:)

6 MONTHS & lots of quick snipit posts

Brinkley is 6 months. We went for her 6 month check up a couple of weeks ago.
The Stats:
13 lbs.
24 1/2 in. in length
We thought that Brinkley would weigh more because she is a bottomless pit when it comes to food but she is still ity bity.(It seems like everyone I meet who's baby is the same age isbigger than Brinks and I'm ok with that, but the other day I met some twins, who were premature and 4 mths old who weigh 18 & 19 lbs. My little petite baby seems to be the little runt:)) I say this all light heartedly. The doctor nor Jason & I are concerned that she is too small, she is growing steady on the growth chart, and loves to eat. I just find it interesting. We have started 3 meals a day and the doctor said to feed her until she is full. This girl can put away some food. She is getting on a good schedule and finally taking naps in her crib during the day. She used to only sleep in her carseat, swing, or stroller; but she has now started sleeping in her crib (most days). She is still a great sleeper at night 6:30/7:00p.m. - 7;30a.m. She smiles all the time. She can sits up without support but I still like to have the boppy or blankets behind her. I am a worrier! She will pull to stand and we let her take turns pretending to walk between us. She loves for Jason to fly her around the house. Still chewing on anything she can get in her mouth. She can put her binky in her mouth by herself (yeah). She has started smiling even more the last few days. She always looks for mommy when she is handed to anyone new (church, bible study).
She is changing so fast, but it is sooooo much fun. I am so thankful for our healthy baby girl.

Happy Birthday Megan

 

We celebrated Megan's (my niece) birthday today. Brinkley slept through the first part but Megan and Elias had fun. Megan started to open her presents and stopped to tell Elias to come help her. It was so sweet. She then proceeded to take every present to Chrissie (who is not even related), to clarify..her party was mostly family - grandparents, aunts, uncles,etc... and she would take everything to Chrissie. Her last present was her new swing set which she LOVED!!! and played on the rest of the afternoon. She and Elias had fun playing and luckily the weather was nice. Brinkley got to swing for the first time before we left.
*You may notice Brinkley and Elias kissing in the photos...notice the daddys are holding them. We laugh now, but give her 15 years and daddy will not be encouraging this behavior:)

I don't think I like avocado...

 

We found the first food that Brinkley doesn't like. She REALLY doesn't like...she would gag when I would give her a bite. However, on the upside it gave her the chance to play during mealtime. A typical mealitme means Brinkley is very serious and can't get enough, no airplane with the spoon, no smiling or laugh...just open mouth insert food! The dislike of the avocado made for a refreshing mealtime.

I want to be just like daddy

 

If daddy is going out of town, then I am going too. "See daddy I can fit in your bag and your shoes"

Happy Valentines Day

 

Thank you Nana for Brinkley's Valentine. Nana sent her a singing card. Brinkley wasn't so sure at first. She would look at the card and then at me with a "is this ok?" face. I just smiled and laughed and then she would smile at it. She loved her big fluffy dog, especially when it would tickle her tummy.

My New Tub!!!

 

This is the fun tub Kelly and her mom gave Brinkley. She loves it now that she is big enough. She also loves some of the toys that they gave with it. She just lays back and plays. I like it better because she has always turned sideways and tried to get comfy but the big duck tub seems more comfortable.

Brinkley's first Rodeo

 

We took our first trip to the Rodeo with Chrissie and Elias....as you can see Elias was into the horses and cowboys and not into taking pictures. Brinkley enjoyed looking around but was ready for her nap so she went to sleep soon after we arrived. Maybe she'll enjoy it more next year.

Chewing on anything

 

Brinkley is still chewing on everything, but still no teeth. I am so sure they are just around the corner, but we'll see. I just laugh at her attacking her toys so she can gum them to death.

Our visit with Adri & Avery

 

Last week Brinkley and I got to spend some quality time with Adrienne and Avery. It was about time. We had been trying to plan it forever. Brinkley was great and Avery loved to watch Brinkley. Thank You Adrienne for letting us come and stay. I can't believe how fast our girls have grown.

Teething & Fun in January

Brinkley is chewing everything, mainly my fingers. She found her feet and decided they were good for chewing as well.



After about a week of fussiness (due to teething) Brinkley woke up one morning and was back to her old self. Thank goodness. For about a week she would hardly take naps and did not want to be left alone at all, which made for a tiring week. Her teeth are still bothering her but she is not near as fussy.

She had just finished eating in this picture and was gripping the tray with all her might everytime I tried to take it off...i guess hoping I would leave her there for more food. She can't seem to get enough and yet she seems to be smaller than most other babies her age...go figure!

Happy Birthday Addison

I know I am late in posting but I finally feel like getting on the computer for a bit. We enjoyed celebrating Addison's 1st birthday. Brinkley was really good except for the pictures. Maybe it was Elias
head lock that upset her:) Really it was way past her bedtime and she crashed on the way home.

Brinkley makes me laugh at how quickly she can go from happy or content to crying and she can get quite hysterical. She knows what she wants, that's for sure!
