Country Music Half Marathon

Chris and I ran the Country Music Half Marathon last weekend. He finished in 2hrs. 04 min. and 24 sec. and followed closely with 2 hrs. 05 min. and 20 sec. We did manage to stay together until mile 11 and then I couldn't keep up. I am so glad we did it and who knows maybe I'll try again next year.
Me, Chris, and my sweet cousin Kathy who actually gave us the crazy idea to run. Thanks girl.
A snap of Brinkley at 5 o'clock in the morning. She was so great although she was very sleep depreived all weekend. So glad to get her back home and on her schedule. If you look closely all the way back between the buildings all you can see is people. There were tons of people. Who knew so many people liked to wake up early and run.At the start line my ipod brokeso when we saw our cheering section I had to chunk it.
My peeps..at least some of our suppot team. Thanks to mom and dad who also came to watch/cheer.
After the race...I'm leaning because my legs were too sore to stand.

Drum Roll...

In case you can't read her shirt...it says "I'm the Big Sister"
We told both of our families over the easter weekend. Baby# 2 is due in November and we can't wait. I'll say we are both excited and Jason was actually more calm and excited than I was. I was/ am excited but a little worried about handling two. Life will really be busy soon so I am soaking up the simplicity of our life for now.

Just for fun

I have some great pictures from our family day at the Natural Science Museum and from Easter but for some reason they won't upload, so here are just fun pictures from April.

Megan joined Brinkley and I for the easter egg hunt with friends from bible study, but the weather decided to be cold that day so we hunted eggs in our winter clothes.

Katie entertained the kids while the eggs were being hid. Great job Katie.
Megan has been hanging out at our house and playing with Brinkley. Here are the girls hiding in Uncle Jason/Daddy's closet. Giggling and squealing. These girls love each other.
Brinkley has a new found love for dressing up. It doesn't matter who's clothes or even whether they are clean or dirty:) Also loves shoes..hers, mommy's, and daddy's.
Jason still pushing Brinkley early into working out. She showed her muscles with 10 pull ups.
Jason would crenge(sp?) Typically Brinkley will ask for a rad to wipe her hands and mouth with..she's a little ocd like her daddy, but on the occasion I'll catch her with a messy mouth.
Just a fun face. Wonder what is going through that head of hers?
Truely a daddy's girl. This particular day Jason came home and she was attached to him. She was giving away all my good snuggles.
Megan had to share some love for Uncle J.

Sorry it's been so long...

Sorry for the absence. I just haven't felt like uploading pictures and posting lately. Now I am in Columbus and using mom's(nana's) computer so I don't have any pictures, but what's going on in our world:

Brinkley: 20 months old

She is getting so big and boy has she started showing her strong willed side. She will do something like throw food on the floor at a restruant and I'll tell her "No" and then she'll look at me and do it again and hold out her hand for me to pop it. Needless to say popping her hand is not a punishment that works for her so I have to make her get down and pick the item up off the floor and put her face really close to mine and tell her that throwing whatever on the floor is not acceptable. She will respond with no no - so she totally understands and then a yes mam. Then i just try to redirect her. I have lots of thoughts on punishment styles but my problem is deciding on what works for her so I lack the consistency which really is the most important thing.

Anyway she really is at such a fun age. Talking so much, putting words together.

Can identify at least 18 letters of the alphabet (by correlating them to a person.like "p" is for pappy, "m" is for mama, and so on). Can count about to 7. Stills loves daddy's jeep and loves to go go ..anywhere, just to go. Likes to cook cook in her kitchen, loves to swing outside, when lie down with her diaper when she's ready to be changed or will tell me poo poo or tee tee. Not a picky eater but a fickle eater.....it all depends what she's in the mood for . Will try new things when se feels like it. Loves to dance and sing, which for singing she says "lalala". She is such a little helper and if she thinks she is helping will do it (i.e. carry laundry, throw stuff away, carry stuff for mommy, clean up, etc.)
