Brinkley 9 month stats!
As Dr. Joe says, she's dainty:)
16lbs. 15oz.
26 3/4 in. long
1 tooth bottom right (5.7.08)
1 more tooth bottom left (5.14.08)
What I can do:
crawl
pull up
blow rasberries
expressive - says dada
receptive - understand where's "mommy", "daddy" "splashy splashy" (during bathtime), milk, more.
feed self puffs, cubed soft bananas
will bring spoon from bowl to mouth during feeding times
I am sure there is more but mommy's mind is full right now, of the mumbo, jumbo below.
I was relieved that she wouldn't be getting shots at this appt., however she began runing fever on tuesday and so at our check up wednesday Dr. Joe discovered she had a double ear infection. :( Since we have already tried two different antibiotics a couple of weeks ago and a rocefin (sp?) shot he decided she would get a rocefin shot on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday:( and then we would follow-up with and ENT. The stinky part about the shot is you have to wait afterwards for 30 minutes to check for a reaction. Of course she cried but calmed down quickly the first day and she felt crumy. On day two she cried, calmed down and cried when the nurse looked at her 30 minutes later ( I can't blame her though). The shots definately made har feel better so I had high hopes for the ENT appt. this morning. Unfortunately myhopes were shot down. Infection gone but fluid still there. Brinkley was great for the ENT but we are now scheduled for tubes on Wednesday morning. The professional side of me (I worked in Early Intervention for 2 years and then at Magnolia Speech School for two years) knows that this is best not only to lessen her chance for ear infections but also for her hearing. Now is such an important time for speech and language development and the fluid can interfere with how well she can hear; however the mommy side of me does not want her to be put to sleep. It is very different when it's your baby. I know it's whats best for her but I am still anxious.
Lord, I give Brinkley to You again. I do this often but please keep her safe and give the doctors and nurses wisdom and steady hands during her surgery.Thank You for being in control. My faith is in You. You are Jehovah-rapha and my Jehovah-shalom.

I can't believe how small and petite Brinkley is!! Taylor was like 18 lbs at her 6 month check up!! She is so precious!! I will be praying for you guys during surgery. We have a friend that just went through the same thing with their daughter. The surgery lasted like 10 minutes, and she was playing as soon as she got home!! Hopefully, you will have the same outcome. I know God will take care of everything.
I have heard that the surgery is super quick too- and that recovery is bad at first but in about an hour they are fine. They are such resilient little boogers :) I'll be praying for you, Jason and Brinks- let me know if you need anything!
Bless her sweet self! I know how hard it must be - but what a blessing to know she is in the hands of the healer Himself!
We will be praying for all of you!
LUVS!!!
